I didn't submit anything to the last show for Free Art Friday Atlanta, and I couldn't bear to pass it up again.  Especially it being tiki themed this time!  So now I find myself scrambling to slap something together at the last minute like I knew I would.  Ain't it always the way...

Lesson from ParaNorman

Saw ParaNorman last night, and I loved it!  Definitely a big win for Laika, and I hope it makes barrels of money.  It also taught me an important lesson- you'll just have to see the film to appreciate it's impact.

I took the pencils into Flash to finish it.  I wish I knew a way to get around that antiseptic feeling Flash always gives my animation.

I'm animating a new end tag for my friend Zoran's awesome LowCarbComedy.com videos, and I got permission to post the progress.  First, I had to design a good logo- not quite caricature, but not totally generic either. After a few days of sketching, I gave up on designing a good one and telepathically manipulated Zoran's opinion so he'd like this one.  A very handy skill.

Davina and the Harlots This Friday!

If you're in Atlanta on Friday and hankerin' for some luau action, head on over to the Goat Farm!  Revel in the amazing sounds of Blair Crimmins and the Hula Hookers, featuring Davina and the Harlots!  (We only perform a couple times a year, and even more rarely with an awesome band like the Hookers, so I'm pretty excited about Friday. :)

I'd like to do something to promote Davina and the Harlots' appearance with Blair Crimmins and the "Hula" Hookers in the "Sounds of Summer" show this Friday at the Goat Farm, so I started sketching.  Hopefully sometime today, I'll come up with something good to use to let people know about Davina and the Harlots' appearance with Blair Crimmins and the "Hula" Hookers in the "Sounds of Summer" show this Friday at the Goat Farm...

Incidentally, Davina and the Harlots will perform with Blair Crimmins and the "Hula" Hookers in the "Sounds of Summer" show this Friday at the Goat Farm, 9:30pm, $15 at the door.  Bring your Hawaiian shirt.

Curiosity Lands!

Congratulations to everyone at NASA and JPL for a perfect landing of Curiosity!  What an amazing experience.  Onward, soldiers of science!
