Daily Crapbook
My sister Elizabeth was recently in a short film called Bridge and for her birthday I wanted to surprise her with a watercolor inspired by it. But as I'm hopelessly unskilled in watercolors, it turned out like this. Maybe I'll just buy her some flowers instead.

Monkey Rag Update
I hadn't planned on posting this now, but as I'll be in Las Vegas for most of this week I wanted to have something on my blog to show during my absence. This is the board-o-matic for the Monkey Rag music video I've been going on about for ages. Its mostly small thumbnails (with just a few key poses and a small smattering of animation) so it doesn't really have that cutesy, bouncy feel I'm going for. It also missing a lot of a gags I've come up with and haven't sketched out so some of this stuff doesn't make sense to anyone but myself. To sum up, this is the bare bones, skeletal, anemic beginning of what I plan to be a fun and charming little cartoon. When I get back from my trip, I'm going to dive into working on this.

Daily Crapbook: Kiss Me Kate
Nate has allowed me to go nuts on Netflix, so I'm watching all the movies that have been on my list for years but never watched because they bore everyone else ("black and white? Ew!"). Today I finally saw "Kiss Me Kate"- a movie musical that I find odd. The music was superb (Cole Porter at his best!) and some of the dancing was incredible, but the actual story and the dialogue was very...annoying. Another very VERY odd thing about "Kiss Me Kate" is that it was a 3D movie. A 3D movie musical. While this explains why the characters were constantly chucking objects towards the camera, I still can't understand the big WHY of the whole idea. But oh well! The wonderful songs were enough for me, and Howard Keel's toothy grin tweren't half bad neither.

Daily Crapbook
I've been having a tough time drawing lately. The crests and troughs of my creative wavelength are occurring at a higher frequency lately. The boardomatic for "Monkey Rag" has been done for a few weeks now, but I'm not happy with it yet. It will be a week or so more until I post it. Now here are some doodles I've done over this past week.
