There's a little stray cat we've been trying to adopt ever since we moved into our house- we call her Grey Ghost. We feed her several times a day, but she is still a terrific hunter. And she likes to prove that to us... a lot. How can a creature so cute and sweet be so lethal?

The Last Visible Dog
For years this childhood memory has haunted me, but the weirdest thing was I could not remember what it was from. Often I would ask people if they remember "The Infinite Dog" but no soap. Honestly, I began to think I had dreamt it up myself. But just the other day, I was looking up psychedelic animation on You Tube and a suggestion popped up for the 1970s animated film "The Mouse and His Child." This film used to play all the time on the Disney Channel when I was a kid. And then it all came back and hit me like a ton of existential bricks:
"Note well an endlessness of little dogs receding to a regressive diminution to a revelation of the ultimate truth... Somewhere beyond the smallest dog, the last of them is-- infinity!"
The image horrified me so much, I can't even explain it. Perhaps it was the super-creepy original illustration of the dog. Or maybe animated films from the 70s were all designed to terrify small children.

Rob Paulsen is the Man
I just found out about Rob Paulsen's podcast "Talkin' Toons." He's been doing it for a while now, but I just discovered it through Twitter and I'm devouring episode after episode. For those who don't know, Rob Paulsen is one of the best voice actors in the business, with a career spanning thirty some years. I've always loved his voice, even as a kid before I began reading credits, so now to hear his insight and stories and incredible guests is such a joy. Definitely give his podcast a listen! Sometimes he goes into Yakko's voice and I swoon a little. Once a fangirl, always a fangirl I suppose.

Happy About Vampire Diaries?
Another thing I like about Atlanta is that the "Vampire Diaries" is shot here. I've never seen the show, nor am I into vampires in general, but I like any production that sets up shop here. Or maybe I just wanted to draw a cute Vampirella knock-off.

King of Pops on my mind...
Trying to come up with some better ideas for Free Art Fridays. I thought maybe I should do things that have to do with things I like about Atlanta. And I love the King of Pops popsicles, maybe a popsicle pin-up? Perhaps.

Art Hunt Pinups
The art for the Urban Art Hunt has to be relatively weatherproof, so this stuff is all foam board, duct tape, white out, markers, and laminate. Its fun trying something crafty, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Still have one more piece for me to figure this stuff out.

Free Art Friday Sketches
"Free Art Friday" is an Atlanta event I just heard about. Local artist hide artwork in the parks and walking areas around town, then tweet clues to the locations. The first perosn to decipher the clues gets to keep the art! Cool, huh? An art scavenger hunt sounds so much fun- I just had to slap together something for the big Urban Art Hunt on April 27th. Here are my sketches for the free art I'm making. If you're interested in hunting, check out the twitter feed for #championarthunt

Discovered Avatar
Started watching Avatar on Netflix, and asked myself "why didn't anyone ever tell me about this show?" The countless Avatar fans I've ignored over the years might react like this.

Daily Crapbook: Cat in a Sweater
My cat has some hot spots on her back, so I got the bright idea to put a sweater on her. She's not wild about it.

Regular Show Promo: Spontaneous Combustion
Over the last couple of years, it appears that I have less and less work to show. While the kind of work I get has definitely shifted, its also because I am not at liberty to show my work until long after it has aired. In some cases, things never actually do air. Or in other cases, as with the storyboards for Ugly Americans, that work was never meant to air. So when I get a nugget I can Show and Tell, it feels pretty sweet. Here is a promo I got to animate for Regular Show. The characters were miniscule on the screen, and that gave me license to forgo details and just have fun. Enjoy!
