Just can't seem to finish enough in any given day. I've been trying to finish both Monkey Rag and taxes by working on them both each day, since the deadline for both is April 15th. Yesterday I didn't touch taxes, and today I won't get to them either, and I would feel better about that if I liked how Monkey Rag was coming along. Oof! Who says women are good at multitasking? I'm going to band practice to clear my head now.
This is the last of the red-hot mama-jamma pan background. Once its properly framed and vignetted and moving and onscreen for only a few seconds, it might work out! In any case, its time to let this stew.
Today I should have spent the entire day either working on Monkey Rag or doing taxes, but instead my brain could only let me wrap my mind around watching Adventure Time and singin' on the ukulele. I started to feel guilty for a minute, but then the warm, happy feeling of general all-rightness-with-the-world made it fade away. Sometimes its good to indulge your whims.
My original idea for this scene is too large in scope to realize, so I've had to recalibrate. (That's possibly why its taking me such a farshtunken long time, half of my brain keeps saying "Noooo! This was gonna be so cool! Why isn't this cool??") Slapped on a vignette to trick myself into liking it, so I can at least go have lunch while this simmers.
This is what happens when you mix a recent trip to the Center For Puppetry Arts with the discovery that all the episodes of "Quite Interesting" are on YouTube. A Muppet version of Stephen Fry might be the only way to make him any more cuddly than he already is.
When to our local antique market this Saturday, and found an old Saks Fifth Avenue hat with a scarf that ties around the chin. It needs some TLC, but it really does make me feel like an old-timey glamor girl.
A while ago, I got a great gig doing little bits of animation of certain classic characters. I don't think I'll ever get permission to show the stuff publicly, but I can at least show these bitty, little, entirely unrelated thumbnails.
